It is not a coincidence that the package was released on Independence Day, the WordPress team likes to link their free software to free speech as you can see from the opening paragraph of the announcement by Matt Mullenweg.
I can’t think of a more fitting way to mark a day that celebrates freedom than by releasing more free software to help democratize publishing around the globe
Our first impressions are that everything in the new WordPress Dashboard works super smooth and much, much faster than before! This apart of course from the aesthetic changes that we wrote about earlier.
